Steve Gonzalez

Steve Gonzalez is the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) of Transnational Organized Crime in the New York Field Office (NYFO) Criminal division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

He entered on duty as a Special Agent in 2003 and has been an integral member of the NYFO Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), Criminal and Counterintelligence Divisions, the Counterterrorism Division at FBIHQ in Washington D.C., and has led multiple international operations. As ASAC, he oversees all Organized Crime and Major Theft investigations (including Jewelry and Gem and the Art Crime Team) in the NYFO area of responsibility.

In addition to his executive management responsibilities, ASAC Gonzalez utilizes his Clinical/Forensic Psychologist background as a member of the NYFO Crisis Negotiation Team and Threat/Risk Management Advisory Committee and provides behavioral assessment consultation to investigative units and covert operations throughout the FBI.

Prior to the FBI, ASAC Gonzalez was a commissioned officer in the United States Navy, including multiple overseas deployments on special operations capable platforms during Operation Enduring Freedom.
